Mack Hangan also known as Yudai Hamura (羽村湯代, Hamura Yudai^?) is a main character of Duel Monsters Series.

He is Leo Adams's childhood friend, being a skilled and talented Duelist despite his hasty, headstrong, and stubborn nature. He shares a strong passion for Dueling and has become known as one of the best Duelists in the world.

Design

Personality

Mack's hyperactive and fun-loving nature often brings joy and energy to those around him. He is always the life of the party and enjoys making others laugh. However, Mack's sensitivity to mockery and insults can cause him to become easily angered. He doesn't hesitate to express his feelings, often being blunt and straightforward, which can sometimes catch people off guard.

Despite his occasional outbursts, Mack has a kind heart and genuinely cares about others. He goes out of his way to help those in need and is always willing to lend a hand. Mack's strong sense of justice drives him to stand up for what he believes in, even if it means going against the crowd. He is brave and courageous in the face of adversity, never backing down from a challenge or an opportunity to fight for what is right.

Mack has a strong admiration for Heroes which is why he used a Hero Deck and often read Comics Book in his spared time.

Deck

Mack uses an "Elemental Hero" Deck, which focuses on Warrior-Type monsters themed after superheroes. The majority of Mack's "Elemental Hero" monsters lack power, but he supports them with a variety of Spell and Trap Cards to unleash effective combos. Mack relies largely on Fusion, as almost all of the "Elemental Heroes" introduced in the anime can fuse with each other, giving Mack's Deck many options in almost any situation. He further relies on recycling "Polymerization" to his hand and reviving or retrieving "Elemental Hero" monsters from the Graveyard. Mack's two trademark "Elemental Hero" is Elemental Hero Megaman and "Elemental Hero Flame Wingman", which can be further fused into "Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman".

Later in the Series in his Second year in Duel Academy He received a new one that included the "Neo-Spacians" in Duel Spirit Valley The highlight of Mack's new Deck is "Elemental Hero Neos", which can initiate Contact Fusion with the "Neo-Spacians" to summon Fusion Monsters without the need for "Polymerization". Mack also includes support for the "Neo-Spacians" and "Neos", such as "Neo Space", to prevent the new fusions he Summons from returning to the Fusion Deck at the End Phase through their effects. He combines this Deck with his old one.
